Acceptance of a Gas Installation - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this approval if you are undertaking any gas installation work. This includes the following types of gas installations:

  • standard
  • prescribed
  • complex
  • complex / prescribed installations.

The gas installation type is defined largely by the class of building into which the gas installation is being located. For a thorough description of the types of installations please refer to the Agency website.

Any individual gas appliances being fitted as part of the gas installation must also be approved by the Agency.

The gas-fitter carrying out the gas installation must complete a Certificate of Compliance (Gas Fitting Notice) which certifies that the installation has been carried out in accordance with any relevant standards.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

To be eligible you must ensure that the gas installation meets all the relevant standards and that the statement of compliance is satisfactory and has been submitted.
