Agricultural Spraying Permit - Tasmania

Service summary

You may require this permit if you intend to conduct agricultural spraying of certain chemical products that are considered inherently dangerous and accordingly must be used under strict controls.

Under this permit you may apply to use chemical products containing:

  • alpha chloralose
  • 4-aminopyridine hydrochloride
  • mevinphos (for brassica crops only)
  • fenthion, when used or to be used for control of birds
  • pindone.

You are required to provide information including the purpose the chemical product will be used for, the location of the use of the product and the estimated annual use of the undiluted product.

Eligibility requirements

You may need to undergo training regarding the use and application of certain chemicals for agricultural and veterinarian purposes. Different training may apply to separate categories of chemicals.

Other licences or permits for certain restricted chemicals may be a pre-requisite, and compliance with all relevant codes of practice is compulsory.
