Registration of a Group Training Organisation - Tasmania

Service summary

You may require this registration if you intend to provide group training services. A group training organisation is a business that employs trainees or apprentices under training contracts, and places them with host employers. A host employer is an organisation that hosts, under a written agreement, an apprentice or trainee employed by a group training organisation.

Registration is required if you train more than 10 trainees or apprentices under training contracts. A training contract is an agreement to provide training that leads to a qualification. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration you must:

  • Comply with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations;
  • Comply with the Tasmanian Operational Requirements;
  • Submit the Notification of Intent to Register form;
  • Conduct a self-assessment evidence report; and
  • Pay the application fee.
