Approval of Simulated Racing Events - Victoria

Description

You will need this approval to run computer simulated racing games on which people can place bets.

Simulated racing games may be run through gaming machines or over the internet.

Approval comes into effect when published in the Government Gazette, and is subject to any conditions imposed by the Agency.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Approval is at the discretion of the Agency. The approval will take into account the following matters:

  • whether the game or event is offensive or contrary to public interest
  • whether the approval would be an unreasonable extension of the scope of gambling in Victoria
  • whether the simulated race could be regarded as gaming by means of a gaming machine
  • any other matter that the Commission determines is relevant.
