Commercial Raffle Organiser's Licence - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence if you are a commercial raffle organiser (either an individual or corporation) and intend to conduct a raffle, in whole or in part, on behalf of a community or charitable organisation.

A provisional licence may be granted for renewable periods of 90 days while the Agency completes its investigations in relation to the issue of this licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

 

  • apply to using the prescribed form
  • publish the required notice in a newspaper circulating generally in Victoria
  • satisfy the agency that you and each associate of yours is a suitable person to be concerned in the management and conduct of a raffle
  • provide all the required documentation and / or information to enable the Agency to determine your suitability to hold this licence
  • pay the prescribed fees.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

A commercial raffle organisers licence is not transferable to any other person. A licensee must, within three months after the draw of a raffle, or at any other prescribed period of time, send to the Agency in the approved form a full and accurate statement about the raffle.

 

The Agency may impose any conditions, directives or restrictions upon this licence and any failure to comply may result in the agency suspending or cancelling the licence.

Duration

Remains in force for a term not exceeding ten years as specified on the licence, unless sooner cancelled or surrendered.
