Livestock Duty - VIC - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You will need to pay this duty to sell cattle, sheep, goats, swine, or carcases of any of these animals.

If you sell livestock on your own behalf, duty is payable directly to you. If you sell livestock through an agent, the agent must pay and lodge a return, which may result in the cost being passed on to you.

Duty rates vary depending on the type of livestock you sell.

Duty is payable by the 21st of each month. If no duty is payable, you must still lodge a nil return.

Apply	Miscellaneous	All	-	Duty is five cents ($0.05) for every $20 or part of $20 of the sale price for one head of cattle sold singly, or the total amount of the sale price for any number of cattle sold in one lot. The maximum duty for any one head of cattle (sold singly or as part of a lot) is $5. Fees for 2023-24
Apply	Miscellaneous	All	-	Duty is two cents ($0.02) for every $5 or part of $5 of the sale price for one pig sold singly, or the total amount of the sale price for any number of pigs sold in one lot. The maximum duty for any one pig (sold singly or as part of a lot) is 16 cents ($0.16). Fees for 2023-24
