Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to attach, place or remove street furniture, goods or any permanent or semi-permanent structure or sign on a road, council land, verandah, wall, awning, or between buildings.

Street furniture means any:

  • chair
  • table
  • bench
  • umbrella
  • planter box
  • barricade or like furniture
  • sandwich board
  • bunting
  • banner
  • barrier
  • flag
  • or similar object.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

In order to be eligible for this permit you must:

  • be willing to abide by the conditions relating to this permit
  • have adequate public liability insurance ($10 million minimum)
  • indemnify the Council against any liability for any activities that may be authorised by the permit
  • pay the prescribed fees
  • submit a completed application form and any required documentation.

Duration

Permits expire annually on December 31.
