Licence to Access High Consequence Dangerous Goods (HCDG) - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to access high consequence dangerous goods (HCDG). This applies to importing, exporting, manufacturing, selling, using, transporting, transferring, disposing of, or supplying HCDG.

Dangerous goods are substances and articles that are potentially hazardous to people and property. They may be corrosive, flammable, explosive, spontaneously combustible, oxidising or reactive with water. Certain dangerous goods are declared by the Agency to be HCDG.

An employee or contractor of a licence holder will not require this licence provided they are supervised by the licence holder or hold a permit authorising unsupervised access to HCDG.

Approved educational or research institutions or laboratories may not require this approval. You must hold a valid licence for that particular activity. Primary producers also require this licence to store, supply and use.

Please consult the responsible agency for more information regarding eligibility requirements.
