Description

You will require this permit if you intend to provide instruction or coaching for sporting, recreational or training activities at council sporting facilities. These facilities include swimming pools or council owned land.

Instruction or coaching may include, but is not limited to, the following activities:

swimming
team sports
personal training
physical fitness
martial arts
circuit training
any other similar activity.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

You will need to supply a Public Liability certificate of currency for $20 million indemnifying Maribyrnong City Council. A Risk Management Plan will be required as well as current registration with a recognised peak body, a police check and a current first aid certificate.

Please check that your public liability covers all aspects of your training.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You should not attach any equipment to trees or park property, nor peg anything into the ground or place, drag or tumble heavy objects on the lawns.

Whistles, amplifiers and sounds systems are not allowed.

Groups are to be no more than forty participants.

Duration

Six monthly. Summer season: 1 October to 31 March, Winter season: 1 April to 30 September
