Certificate of Survey - Victoria

Service summary

You require this certificate if you intend to operate a commercial vessel in Australian waters. A commercial vessel is any vessel that is used for commercial, government or research activities. This certificate is required for:

  • all new vessels
  • vessels that have had their class or specification changed
  • vessels that have been significantly modified
  • vessels that have not previously held valid certification.

Please note that your vessel may have to undergo a safety and construction check before it will be certified.
