Fatigue Record Keeping Exemption Permit - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this permit if you operate or drive a fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle and intend to be exempt from fatigue record keeping requirements. A fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle is:

  • a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of more than twelve tonnes
  • a combination with a GVM of more than twelve tonnes
  • a bus that is fitted to carry more than twelve people including the driver.
Drivers of fatigue-regulated heavy vehicles are required to follow several record keeping requirements. In some circumstances, this can lead to multiple record keeping systems being kept. In these cases, you may apply for this exemption permit that allows you to upkeep a single record keeping system, rather than all the record keeping systems required by law.

Please consult the responsible agency for more information regarding eligibility requirements.
