Permit to Keep Reptiles or Rodents - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to keep any reptiles or rodents at any premises, including premises used for animal breeding or boarding or a domestic animal business (that is not already covered by a planning scheme).

This permit is generally required if you intend to keep more than a specified number of reptiles or rodents in residential areas, or if you intend to keep venomous reptiles above a specified number in any area. Your local council can advise on allowable numbers in your area.

You will also require a Noise and Smell permit if the animals interferes with the reasonable comfort or convenience of any person.
