Over Dimensional Light Vehicle Permit - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to operate a light vehicle that exceeds the size limits. A light vehicle is a vehicle that is less than 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM). This permit is required if one of the following dimensions is exceeded:

  • 4.3 metres in height
  • 2.5 metres in width
  • 12.5 metres in length for a rigid vehicle
  • 19 metres in length for a combination vehicle.

Over dimensional heavy vehicles require a Mass or Dimension Exemption Permit. Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
