Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you operate a premises that produces products by rendering biological materials from animals. The standard outlines the minimum requirements for construction, equipment and rendering operations. For example, compliance is required by rendering premises producing:

  • meat or bone meal
  • tallow
  • blood meal
  • fish oil
  • poultry oil
  • fish meal
  • feather meal
  • poultry by-product meal
  • poultry meal.

Any rendered products that are intended for human consumption must also comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
