You will require this licence if you usually reside in another State or Territory and hold a valid licence as an authorised user of pesticides in that State or Territory, and intend to carry on the business of controlling, destroying or repelling pests as a pest control operator in Victoria. The pesticides you apply for authorisation to use need to be the same or similar in all respects to the pesticides that are authorised for use under your current licence.
There are three types of licence authorisations which may be listed on the licence depending on the type of pest control work to be undertaken and qualifications of the licence holder:
- pesticides (excluding fumigants) formulated for the control of arthropods, rodents, birds and fungi, which are used to control pests (other than pest animals)
- pesticides formulated for the control of pest animals
- pesticides in the form of fumigants.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence, you must:
- already hold a valid pesticide licence in another State or Territory of Australia that is comparable to the type of licence for which you are applying
- provide evidence that the prescribed qualifications have been attained
- show that you are a fit and proper person for the position
- provide any additional required information
- pay the prescribed fee.
Conditions or restrictions may be placed upon the licence. There are prescribed additional requirements relating to pesticide and chemical storage, use and transport of pesticides, application equipment, personal protective equipment and other safety items, maintenance of specified records, lodgement of specified returns, and facilitating the conduct of routine inspections by the Agency.
Failure to renew the licence prior to its expiry date will result in cancellation of the licence. Conviction of an offence against the Act or Regulations may also result in the cancellation or suspension of the licence.
Fees for 2016-17.
Lodge your application form, fee, and any associated documents directly with the agency. You will need to attach a photograph of yourself that meets the specifications set out on the application form.
