You will require this registration if you intend to operate any of the following types of accommodation business:

You do not require this registration if you operate any of the following:

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

To be eligible for this registration you must:

apply to the local council in which the accommodation is located
include all the required documentation and information
submit a 1:100 scale plan of the premises, showing the proposed use of each room
pay the prescribed fee.

Planning approval to conduct the business may also be necessary in some circumstances.

You will need to comply with any additional conditions set by the Council.
