Registration of a Firearm - Victoria

Description

All firearms must be registered with Victoria Police. It is illegal to have an unregistered firearm in your possession.

If you intend to purchase, possess, carry and use a firearm in Victoria, you will need a firearm licence and a permit to acquire a firearm for your intended type of firearm.

Only certain antique firearms manufactured before 1900 are exempt from registration. If you believe your firearm is exempt from registration you must take it to an authorised firearm identifier for assessment.
