Recreational Fishery Licence - Victoria

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to take or attempt to take fish from Victoria's marine, estuarine or inland waters. You will also require this licence if you use or possess recreational fishing equipment on or next to Victorian waters. It covers any species of fish by any method including:

  • line fishing
  • bait collection
  • gathering shellfish
  • yabby fishing
  • prawning
  • spear fishing.

Exemptions

You are not required to hold a recreational fishery licence if you:

  • receive an aged or invalid pension
  • are totally and permanently incapacitated pensioner or service pensioner
  • hold a current pensioner concession card or an equivalent
  • hold a Senior's Card
  • are 70 years old or older.

  • submit the required form
  • provide all information and documentation required by the authority
  • pay the prescribed fee.
