You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to be involved in the design, manufacture or importation of motor vehicles equipped to run on LPG. It specifies requirements for liquefied petroleum gas (LP Gas) fuel systems for engines mounted on motor vehicles, either for the propulsion of the vehicles or for driving some auxiliary function (for example, a mixer or a pump). It provides requirements for the design and construction of component parts, and for their installation in vehicles, and for tests, commissioning, and periodic inspection.
The legislation adopts this standard as amended from time to time. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
Code of Practice
A code of practice can be either a legal requirement or non-legal requirement. Legal codes of practice are defined as a result of legislation. Non-legal codes of practice are defined by industry regulators and bodies.
