You may volunteer for this accreditation if you intend to operate an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) accredited works premises. This accreditation allows your business to operate under a less prescriptive regime than would otherwise be applied. It is only available to companies that can demonstrate the capability and commitment to achieve good environmental performance.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible you must:
- be the holder of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) licence
- have a certified Environmental Management System, an endorsed Environmental Improvement Plan, or an Environmental Audit program endorsed by an EPA appointed environmental auditor (industrial facilities)
- have a good environmental record
- pay all required fees
- provide the Agency with any supporting documentation
- complete any relevant forms.

It is an ongoing requirement of this licence that you, the licence holder, submit a performance statement. The statement must include:
- an analysis of performance against the provisions of the licence for the previous calendar year
- any other information required under the licence
- be signed by you, the licence holder.
