Australian New Zealand Standard AS / NZS 4280.1:2003 406 MHz Satellite Distress Beacons - Marine Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs) - Victoria

Description

You will be required to have an emergency position-indicating radio beacon (EPIRB) that complies with this standard if you intend to operate a vessel on coastal waters more than two nautical miles from the shore.

This standard provides manufacturers, suppliers and testing facilities of 406 MHz satellite distress beacons with the minimum radiofrequency and environmental requirements and associated test methods to enable design and confirmation of compliance.
