Permit to Have Unsupervised Access to High Consequence Dangerous Goods (HCDG) - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this permit if your work involves unsupervised access to high consequence dangerous goods (HCDG) such as ammonium nitrate.

Dangerous goods are described as substances and articles that are potentially hazardous to people and property. They may be corrosive, flammable, explosive, oxidizing or reactive with water. Certain dangerous goods are designated as high consequence (HCDG) by the Agency.

This permit can only be granted to the employee of an HCDG licence holder. It entitles the permit holder to conduct the activities which the HCDG licence holder has authorised you to perform and has recorded in their security plan.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • be at east 18 years of age
  • be a Victorian resident
  • pass a National Police Check and a security assessment
  • provide all required documentation and information
  • pay the prescribed fees.
