Permit to Conduct Building Work Out of Hours - City of Melbourne - Victoria

Description

You may require this permit if you intend to carry out building activities outside of normal business hours, which are typically 7:00am - 7:00pm weekdays and 8am - 3pm on Saturday.

Types of activities may include:

  • conducting works
  • activities, events or practices connected with construction
  • demolition or removal of a building or temporary structure (such as fences, outbuildings, masts, poles, etc).

Eligibility requirements

 

You can apply for an Out of Hours Permit if:

  • the building works cannot take place during normal working hours
  • there are over-sized vehicle loads that cannot travel through the city during normal working hours
  • VicRoads would not permit the closure of declared roads during working hours
  • the nature of the works makes it more desirable to be conducted outside working hours
  • it can be demonstrated that the nature of the work will not have an unreasonable impact on local amenity due to the nature, location or duration of the work. You would be required to submit noise or vibration mitigation measures as part of your application.
