Aircraft Licence (Commercial) - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you are an aircraft owner operating commercial services via aircraft (including transporting goods or passengers in trade or business) within Western Australia. You will not need this licence if you intend to transport either a:

  • medical practitioner in the course of his duties
  • sick or injured person to or from medical aid, in an emergency.

Your licence will specify the routes on which you can travel, and the area in which you can operate.

The Agency will consider a range of matters when assessing your application, including the following:

  • the necessity of the service and convenience to the public
  • the adequacy of existing services
  • your character, qualifications and financial stability
  • the interests of the persons needing transport and the community generally
  • the routes and area in which you intend to operate
  • the fares and freight rates you propose to charge.

All Commonwealth laws relating to aircraft ownership and operation must also be complied with.

Duration

Not more than five years, or for a particular purpose of specified duration.
