Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to operate a cattery or keep more than the prescribed number of cats on your premises. More than the prescribed number of cats differs between 3 or 4 according to your Council.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Applications must be:

  • Made by an occupier of the premises in relation to those premises;
  • In a form approved by the Council;
  • Accompanied by fees imposed and determined by the Council; and
  • Accompanied by the consent in writing of the owner of the premises, where the occupier is not the owner of the premises to which the application relates.
