Car Market Operator Registration - Western Australia

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to act as a car market operator. A car market operator is someone who carries on the business of providing a premises for a second hand car market, but does not own the vehicles. It does not include auction premises. A car market operator cannot hold any other licence as a dealer, yard manager or salesperson.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • not hold any other licence as a dealer, yard manager or salesperson
  • prove your identity and that you are over 18 years of age
  • prove you are a fit and proper person
  • provide the business name(s) you plan to use, with proof of registration
  • ensure registration of any company name is included in the application
  • specify each of the premises you propose to operate from
  • complete the required forms
  • pay the prescribed fees.
