Explosives Transport Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you are a prime contractor and intend to transport explosives by road, rail or water. Prime contractors are the person responsible for transporting explosives by road, rail or water.

The agency recommends the use of an accredited dangerous goods consultant to prepare and submit your application.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • hold a current WA dangerous goods security card (DGSC)
  • have developed and can apply an explosives management plan, including a security plan.

If you intend to apply as a partnership or company, you will need to have at least one appointed officer who must:

  • be at least 21 years old
  • be competent to safely engage in the activities authorised by the licence
  • be competent to keep any explosive possessed under the licence secure
  • hold a current DGSC.
