You will require this approval if you intend to act as a food safety auditor. A food safety auditor is a person who undertakes regulatory food safety audits of food businesses that are required to implement a food safety program.
A food business is a business, enterprise or activity that involves the handling of food intended for sale or the sale of food. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this approval you must:
- have completed a Certificate IV or higher in food science or a related field
- satisfy the Agency that you are competent to carry out the functions of a food safety auditor
- demonstrate appropriate skills and knowledge in relation to Western Australia's food regulatory system
- complete the required forms
- pay the prescribed fee.
