Commercial Fishing Licence - Western Australia

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to engage in commercial fishing. Commercial fishing is fishing for financial gain or reward. You will require this licence regardless of whether you are the master of a boat or a crew member. Please note that when you apply for or renew this licence you will receive a receipt. In most cases this receipt acts as a licence as long as you physically have it with you when fishing until you hear back from the agency about the outcome of your actual application or one month passes, whichever is sooner.

Please note that a commercial fishing licence does not authorise you to fish in a managed fishery or an interim managed fishery. This requires a separate approval. Please note that if you intend to commercially fish from a boat, you will require a separate fishing boat licence for each boat.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
