Order for Road Closure for Events - Western Australia

Description

You will need this order to organise an event on public roads and need the road to be closed.

There are four categories of events:

  • category 1 event - an event which involves large public participation
  • category 2 event - an event which involves racing motor vehicles and does not involve large public participation
  • category 3 event - an event which involves racing non-motor vehicles, athletic events, or any other event other than a locality or street event that does not involve large public participation
  • category 4 event - an event which does not fall within categories 1, 2 or 3.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this order you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • obtain the consent of the local council or other government body which administers the road that you intend to close.

You must also obtain the consent of at least two thirds of the occupiers of land immediately adjacent to the road that you propose to close to hold a small street party without substantial public participation.
