Fireworks Operator Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to:

  • possess, set up and initiate outdoor fireworks at a display covered under a fireworks event permit while under the employ or supervision of a licensed fireworks contractor
  • initiate firecracker chains at ceremonial occasions under a ceremonial fireworks notice
  • initiate indoor fireworks under the relevant permit.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be a natural person
  • be at least 18 years old
  • have competencies acceptable to the agency
  • hold or have applied for a WA dangerous goods security card or hold a recognised security clearance
  • hold a current Australian or New Zealand driver's licence
  • pass a medical assessment against the required standards in the last six months.

If you hold an equivalent licence in another state or territory of Australia or in New Zealand, you may apply for mutual recognition of your licence.
