You will need this licence if you intend to carry on a business as an occasional auctioneer. Auctioneers are people who sell or offer for sale or resale properties or other items by way of auction. An occasional licence allows you to act as an auctioneer for specific occasions and circumstances that will be set out in your licence. You may only be granted a maximum of five occasional licences in the same police district within a twelve-month period.
The classes of businesses you may operate in include:
- land
- motor vehicles
- wool
- livestock
- second hand items
- any other specified kind of commodity as determined by the Agency.
