Firearm Repairer's Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to repair firearms.

This licence will authorise you and your employees to:

  • repair firearms belonging to people who are authorised to possess them
  • possess ammunition for the firearms you are repairing
  • issue firearm serviceability certificates.

Your licence will allow you to carry out your repair business at one premises only.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person
  • provide a 100 point proof of identification
  • provide a serviceability certificate for each firearm you intend to licence
  • obtain a firearms awareness certificate
  • have good reason for acquiring or possessing the firearm or ammunition to which the application relates
  • demonstrate sufficient knowledge and the capability to repair firearms and ammunition by having successfully completed an examination set by the Police Department.
