Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to teach in an educational venue. An educational venue includes a school, kindergarten, child care centre and detention centre. There are four categories of registration:

Registration is not required for all forms of teaching. Registration is not required for any of the following:

  • Teaching a programme as part of an approved VET course
  • The work of a trainer or assessor under the Australian Quality Training Framework

An application for limited registration must be made by an employer. An application for limited registration should be made where the individual you wish to employ does not meet the requirements for full or provisional registration.

Unpaid volunteers who are solely or principally responsible for the delivery or administration of certain educational programmes must also apply for registration.
