Licence to Obstruct a Thoroughfare or Verge - Shire of Tammin - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to place obstructions or building material on a thoroughfare or verge. A public thoroughfare is any street, way or other public place. The verge is any area beside the thoroughfare but does not include any footpath.

Obstructions and building material include, but are not limited to, cranes, hoists, hoardings, fences, building materials or waste, and bulk storage containers. All obstructions must be placed within protective barriers for public safety. Sufficient light must also be provided at night to prevent accidents.

Eligibility requirements

Your permit may be subject to any of the following requirements:

  • Conditions requiring you to set up hoardings, fences or other protective structures to protect public safety.
  • Charges for any damage to the public thoroughfare.
  • Payment of a deposit to cover the cost of repairing any damage to the public thoroughfare.

Please note that all things and protective structures set up on the thoroughfare must be provided with sufficient lightning during night to prevent accidents.
