You will require this licence if you operate a bank, financial institution or other organisation approved by the Commissioner, such as a shooting club, and you intend to possess or use firearms and ammunition.
The licence entitles your organisation to possess the firearms named and identified in the licence, together with ammunition. It authorises you to allow employees or agents of your organisation to possess, carry, or use a firearm or ammunition:
- On the premises of the organisation; or
- In the course of carrying out a function approved by the Commissioner and authorised by that organisation.
Please note that this licence will be issued in the corporate or trading name of your organisation, not to you individually.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence you must:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Provide a 100 point proof of identification;
- Provide supporting documentation relevant to the reason you intiend to licence a firearm;
- Provide a serviceability certificate for each firearm you intend to licence;
- Obtain a firearms awareness certificate; and
- Be a fit and proper person to hold a firearms licence.
