Permit to Light a Fire or Burn Material on Public Land - Shire of York - Western Australia

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to light a fire or burn material on a thoroughfare, verge or other public land. A permit will not be issued during certain time periods of high fire risk. Please refer to the Restricted Fire Permit if you intend to light a fire during a period of high fire risk.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must ensure that:

  • there is no other appropriate means of disposal
  • the material does not include any plastic, rubber, food scraps, green garden materials or other material which may become offensive when burnt
  • a haze alert has not being issued by the Bureau of Meteorology during the time burning is to take place
  • if you are using an incinerator, that it meets the minimum specified standards.
