National Code of Practice for Noise Management and Protection of Hearing at Work - Western Australia

Service summary

You will be required to comply with this code if you are the operator of a petroleum or geothermal energy operation where your employees might be exposed to excessive noise. If your employees are exposed to noise in the workplace that exceeds the national standard level of 85 decibels then you must manage your employee's exposure to the noise in accordance with this code.

This code aims to prevent noise induced hearing loss in your employees. It provides practical guidance to assist you to reduce exposure to excessive noise and protect the hearing of your employees. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
