Licence to Keep a Kennel Establishment - City of Rockingham - Western Australia

Description

You may need this licence if you intend to operate a kennel or keep more than the prescribed number of dogs on your premises. The prescribed number of dogs will differ between councils.

Some councils will offer a separate application for keeping more than the prescribed number of dogs on your property. This application is usually for non-commercial purposes.

Your premises will be inspected by the council ranger to determine if it is suitable for the proposed purpose.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a kennel licence you must:

  • provide evidence of town planning approval obtained from the local government
  • plans and specifications of the kennel establishment, including a site plan
  • evidence that the proposal to construct a kennel has been advertised in the district newspaper within 14 days of applying for the licence.
