Fireworks Notification - Western Australia

Description

You are required to notify your council if you intend to discharge fireworks outside for a purpose other than an event. You will also need to notify the Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner.

This notification is not required for:

  • unrestricted fireworks or sparklers
  • fireworks used under an events fireworks permit
  • use of a cracker chain at a public ceremony
  • use of fireworks by aircraft
  • fireworks used in theatrical shows, television or filming.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

You must submit a fireworks notice containing the following information:

  • details of your fireworks operator licence
  • the date, time, location and duration for use of fireworks
  • the diameter of the largest shell (if any firework to be used is an aerial shell)
  • purpose of the fireworks.

You will be supplied with a written notice informing you whether the proposed use of fireworks is permitted and listing any conditions that you must comply with.
