Human Artificial Fertilisation Exemption - Western Australia

Service summary

You may require this exemption if you are a medical practitioner and you intend to carry out an artificial insemination procedure.

This exemption authorises you to carry out a particular artificial insemination procedure without being required to hold a Human Artificial Fertilisation Practice Licence.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Be a current registered medical practitioner;
  • Notify the Agency of the kind of procedures you intend to carry out;
  • Lodge a written undertaking to observe and comply with the Code of Practice and any directions; and
  • Pay the required fee.

You will not be eligible if you are an individual or organisation that is bankrupt, under receivership, in liquidation, or disqualified from holding a licence.
