Australian Design Rule ADR 59 - Standards for Omnibus Rollover Strength - Western Australia

Description

You may need to comply with this standard if you are involved in the design or manufacture of buses which seat more than 9 adults (including the driver) and have 2 or 3 axles and a single steer axle. For a bus equipped with an approved air suspension system to be declared a complying bus, it must meet the rollover strength specifications in this standard.

The function of this vehicle standard is to ensure that omnibus superstructures withstand forces encountered in rollover crashes to maintain a residual space during and after a rollover crash.
