You may need to comply with this code if you intend to breed or rear emus in captivity in Western Australia. This code is intended to guide you in the welfare and husbandry of emus. It contains basic requirements for ensuring the welfare of emus. The code covers topics including:
- housing
- equipment
- protection from predators and hazards
- the provision of food and water
- handling and yard facilities
- hatchery management.
