Description

You will need this licence if you intend to sell to small use customers gas which is transported through a gas distribution system. A small use customer is a customer uses less than 1 terajoule of gas per year. A gas distribution system is a system of pipelines, mains and gas service pipes designed to transport gas to customers.

Your licence will specify the supply area or supply areas in which you are authorised to sell gas. A list of supply areas is available on the Agency's website.

You will not need a licence if you intend to supply customers who use more than 1 terajoule of gas per year.

  • detail the methods or principles you propose to apply in determining prices or charges
  • ensure your intended activities are not contrary to the public interest.
