You will require this registration if you intend to operate a community kindergarten. A community kindergarten is a school that provides education for children in the first year of their pre-compulsory education period, and / or education for children in their early education.
The first year of the pre-compulsory education period starts at the beginning of the year in which a child reaches the age of four years and six months until the 31st of December of that year. The early education period is the period before a child reaches the pre-compulsory education period. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this registration your community kindergarten must:
- Have an incorporated governing body which is composed of fit and proper people, and which has a satisfactory constitution;
- Provide a satisfactory level of care for the children;
- Ensure that your kindergarten will meet any applicable regulatory standards;
- Submit any required forms; and
- Pay any required fees.
