You will require this approval if you intend to carry out development work in an area under the authority of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority. The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority covers certain areas in and around Central and East Perth, Subiaco, Midland and Armadale. Please consult the attached maps for more information.

Development work includes excavations and the construction, alteration or demolition of buildings. It also includes any material change in how land is being used. Please note that some minor works including signage, the erection of temporary structures, repairs and minor building modifications may not require this approval. This varies depending on which area the work is in.
