Approval to Undertake a Tree Damaging Activity - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to undertake an activity that may damage a protected tree, or undertake prohibited ground work within a protection zone for a protected tree or in a declared site.

A protected tree is a tree on private land that has been registered or a tree on leased land that is:

  • 12 metres or more in height
  • 1.5 metres or more in circumference at 1 metre above ground level
  • with two or more trunks and the total circumference of all the trunks, 1 metre above ground level, is 1.5 metres or more
  • 12 metres or more in crown width.
