You must comply with this standard if you install bordeaux connections for connecting a wire rope to the crane chain.

This standard referenced in legislation has been superseded by BS 7167:1990 Specification for Bordeaux connections. The standard outlines requirements for form, dimensions, materials and marking for Bordeaux connections having safe working loads from 2.16 to 15.7 tonnes.
