Description

You may require this licence if:

  • You are the owner of a firearm that has been acquired as a heirloom and there is no genuine reason for having a firearms licence
  • The firearm is part of a collection.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the licence you must:

  • Provide evidence indicating the firearm is an heirloom. This includes age, how long you have had it in your possession and how it was obtained
  • Ensure the heirloom is permanently inoperable
  • Be a member of an approved collectors club or association.
