Description

You will require this licence if you intend to supply explosives. Explosives have a variety of forms and uses, ranging from high powered explosives in quarry blasting to the use of pyrotechnics designed to produce special effects in the entertainment industry. As the holder of this licence, you will be in control of:

  • Handling of the explosive;
  • The premises where the explosive is stored prior to supply;
  • Any associated plant or system;
  • Any associated activity; and
  • The supply of the explosive.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Supply your application on the appropriate form;
  • Undergo a security assessment;
  • Be 18 years of age or older;
  • Supply copies of identification papers for yourself and any other responsible person named in the application;
  • In the case of a corporate, supply the corporation's Australian Company Number;
  • Give details of disposal of the substance;
  • Supply a security plan prepared in accordance with the Regulations;
  • Supply any information or documents required under the Act; and
  • Pay the relevant application fees.
